A Visual Guide to Falconry
This video was made to complement the Falconry Courses held at the Black Mountains Falconry Centre, Abergavenny, Wales.
It is a comprehensive guide to the training and handling of Falcons and other hunting birds of prey and hence aimed at all newcomers to this fascinating sport.
Roger James of the Black Mountains Falconry Centre explains in a clear and understandable manner the ‘ins and outs’ of getting to know your bird and how to handle it the right way. Some of the many chapters are: Falconer’s Furniture, the tying of the Falconer’s Knot, the basic techniques of casting, weighing, hooding, lure work and Follow-On Training. The menu-structure of the DVD makes it easy to choose and view particular chapters directly.
You will soon understand and master the basics of this fantastic sport and you will want to learn more and start to fly your bird in the open field.
A very satisfying experience indeed!
